DOG TRAINING IS EASIER THAN YOU THINK!

Know Better Dogs is a place for learning  where both you and your
dog will enjoy the lessons. Our lessons are designed to be easy to
understand and simple to implement.

You will learn how to use your new skills in your home life to help
your dog become more compliant and easy to deal with. Taking
classes at Know Better Dogs can only improve your
communication with your dog. The dog will benefit from the one on
one time you spend in class and you will benefit from knowing how
to get compliance in your home environment.

It is important for you to take the lead in your puppies life.
Training should begin as soon as you get your pup. Our informal
Puppy Social Night is a great place to start to teach him you are
the leader of his new pack. The one who says when to play and
when to settle down.  Our Puppy Socials will prepare your new
addition for a lifetime of learning and partnership with you.

We will show you how your actions affect your dog’s actions. If
needed small changes on your part can mean big changes in the
dog. Its not always the dogs fault when things go wrong,
sometimes its just miscommunication between two species. Dogs
are in some ways similar to humans and as such we often believe
they are the same. It is when dogs are treated as children that
things go wrong. Dogs don’t have the same understanding of the
human language as kids do. Rather than understand the meaning
of words they pair the word with an action.
Dogs do understand what works for them and what doesn’t, this is
what makes operant conditioning my choice of training methods.
Dogs are perfectly willing  to learn, they just need to see what’s in
it for them. With operant conditioning the dog learns his behaviour
controls his environment i.e. He does good things and good things
happen to him. Its actually very simple to build a nice responsive
pet, once you start implementing this system at home.
Training is a fun and rewarding at any age and we look forward to
being there for you and your dog from puppy hood till old age.
